wedding recap

Hey Dolls!!

Happy Friday! So I promised I would post some of the bridesmaid details from my sister is laws wedding last weekend so I promise I will get to that! I can’t believe how fast her wedding has come and gone and that the hubs and I are getting close to celebrating two years of marriage ourselves! Where does the time go!? Time flies when you’re having fun, I guess! 🙂 Or more then likely time flies the older you get! Ahh!!

Weddings are so fun and so sweet. I always cry at weddings because getting to share in someone’s love and life in such an intimate way is seriously the best. I think they are such a good reminder to all of us who are married to love each other everyday the way you did when you said “I do.” Life happens but the love you build your life on together is what you should always come back to, even on hard days. I was recently at a send off dinner for a co-worker and friend of mine who is getting married next week and we all went around and shared words of wisdom for the bride and groom to be. I love that kind of stuff and was so excited to hear everyone’s advice. One of my favorites, which totally made me tear up, was to take a moment at your wedding just the two of you to step away and take it all in; the love, the magic, the feelings and savor it. Then on those hard days, remember that moment and how much you love each over and it will get you through whatever comes your way. I totally agree with that! The hubs and I decided to see each other before the ceremony and it was such a sweet time. I will NEVER forget how I felt when I saw him standing at the end of this long path with his back to me, knowing that in less then an hour he would be my hubby forever. I instantly got teared up just so full of love and excitement for all that was in store for us. After 5 years, we would be becoming husband and wife. We took pictures together for about an hour and it was so special and sweet. It was like the camera wasn’t even there and we could just live in that moment and that love forever. It was perfect and intimate. Our own little fairy-tale. It was the only time we got just the two of us the entire day and it’s some of the only moments I really remember every second of. I wouldn’t change it for the world and would encourage couples to think about making time for the two of you on your wedding day! Whether is a little prayer time or a quick first look or a moment away from the reception for a sunset shoot, make a moment that you can hold onto forever!

Looking back I am so blessed by all of the wonderful people that had a part of our day! From extended family to best friends, we were surrounded by so much love and I am still so thankful for every person who shared our day with us! To all my almost brides out there, enjoy the time with your favorite people! We ended up being the last people besides our parents to leave our reception because we were having so much fun! It is (most likely) the only time all our favorite people would be in one place at one time and we wanted to live it up! It was really the best day ever and even though little things might have gone “wrong” throughout the day, I will always look back with a smile and a happy heart! Here’s a few of my favorite moments! Also where can I find a job where I can wear my wedding dress everyday!? Love!IMG_0097

The smiles on our faces says it all. So much love. So much happiness! 🙂

So now that I have been a bridesmaid 6 times, I feel like I have got my packing and weekend essentials down so I wanted to share a few of my must haves with you all! PS- have tissues in EVERY purse you bring!

So like I’ve mentioned before, having the right products on your face makes a world of difference. Regardless of if you are having your make-up professionally done for the big day, you need these products in your life!

  • The lip combo I listed for the day of is my new favorite everyday pink! I love it!
  • Speaking of perfect pinks, as soon as I found the OPI color I got during my wedding pedi I just had to buy it! OBSESSED!!
  • The Naked palette is a given, everyone needs this and the products popularity speaks for itself. The original palette is perfect! If you want more pink tones then get the third palette, so gorg!
  • If you like a full-coverage concealer you HAVE to try the YSL concealer pictured. It goes on smooth and doesn’t crease throughout the day which is so important! I’ve tried a lot of concealers and this one is amazing! 🙂
  • Not pictured but my favorite wedding foundation is Dior ‘Diorskin Airflash’ Foundation which is a spray foundation that covers flawlessly and makes you look pore- less! I used it on my wedding day and it’s the greatest!! I highly recommend heading to your local Nordstrom and testing it out. You’ll fall in love, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and letting me re-live my wedding and my product loves from my sister in laws wedding! I’m going to go drown myself in wine now because this morning my sweet sister in law moved to Georgia with her new hubby and we won’t be seeing her for awhile ::sob::! The south keeps stealing my favorite people! I’m trying to devise a plan to move down there to be closer to them one of these days! Wish me luck! 😉
