Banana Nutella Ice Cream


Hey Dolls!

Put down whatever you’re doing and get ready to head to the store for the ingredients to make this delicious and mostly guilt free dessert! So. Good! If you’re like us, sometimes at the end of a long week or night you crave a little sweet treat but don’t want to go out and get one. Like I’ve mentioned before, I keep my baking cabinet stocked for nights like these but what about when you want ice cream but don’t have any? In comes the frozen banana. Every time I grocery shop I buy tons of bananas, some to freeze and the rest to eat during the week. I let the ones to be frozen get really ripe and then I peel and half them into plastic bags to be frozen for later. Whether it’s our smoothies in the morning or a sweet treat, I always want to have frozen bananas handy. They also make good treats for Roo, she loves ice and bananas so it’s perfect.



  • 5-6 frozen bananas
  • 3/4 cup nutella
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla


  1. If your bananas aren’t already frozen you can slice them up and put them in the freezer for 20-30 minutes. You want them to be totally frozen. Mine are at least a day or two frozen but either way works.
  2. Put the frozen bananas in the food processor and mix on high until they are smooth like ice-cream. Stop every 30 seconds or so to scrap the chunks down from the sides so it mixes really well.
  3. Add nutella and vanilla and mix until totally combined.
  4. Serve immediately with or without a cookie on the side or save it for later in the mason jar of your choice in the freezer!

I can’t even tell you how good this was. It’s pretty rich which is why I put over half of it into the freezer for another day. Yes I have mason jars in all sizes, they are the most handy and wonderful things ever! Also the hubs bought too many boxes of girl scout cookies at work so I put a tagalong on the side for extra sweetness. I sent the pic to one of my girlfriends and she asked if it was a chocolate covered banana chip so next time I think I will add a few frozen bananas dipped in chocolate, yum!
