A Little Weekend Recap

Happy Monday Dolls!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Sometimes it feels like I blink and the weekend comes and goes. Lucky for me I had a three-day weekend which was so needed! Friday I ran errands, went to the eye doctor, took Roo to the groomer and let myself relax a little bit. πŸ™‚ I feel like I need to start packing/organizing our condo so that when we get the keys on November 4th we can start putting boxes in the garage I can’t even tell you how excited we are to have a garage after not having one for the last 2.5 years, ah!Β The storage possibilities are endless, hooray! My buy bulk and be guest ready heart is SO happy! πŸ™‚ But we also have some time so I don’t want to fill up the little living space we currently have with boxes on top of boxes so I’ll wait a little bit longer.

Friday night the hubs and I went out to dinner which was so delicious. We try not to eat out too much so when we do it’s fun to try new places. Sometimes it’s a little scary ha but Yelp hasn’t really led us astray so far and that was true with the Friday pick. The hubs found a little hole in the wall Mexican place a couple of towns over that had good reviews so we headed over. The food was a tad greasy but so delicious. I put myself in a chips and salsa, margarita induced coma and had a great night sleep afterwards, but for reals. πŸ™‚ Some date I am, going to bed at 9pm, oops! Sorry babe! #neededit If you’re in the Northwest Chicago Suburbs and have a craving for mexican/margs check out La Hacienda de Roselle, it hit the spot.image5

I managed to wake myself up with enough time to throw on workout stuff and brush my teeth before zipping over to The Dailey Method for some #barresohard to start my Saturday. Embracing the shake is no joke people. Β I have a love/hate relationship with working out that is mostly hate and dagger eyes at whoever is teaching the class that day. #thestruggleisreal Don’t get my wrong the workout is awesome and I wish I could afford to go all the time but sadly the occasional groupon is all that works for me at the moment. Why does working out have to be freaking expensive?! Ugh. It shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg to be healthy, agreed? After working out I picked up coffee and my sister-in-law to watch the boys play in the alumni baseball game for homecoming weekend. The morning weather was a little chilly but it was so fun to have some time together and watch the boys do what they love. After the game I went home and got ready to go walk around campus and see some old friends since it was our 5 year reunion from college. Excuse me but when did we get so old?! Ah! #frightening It was fun to see people but so weird walking around. It was like stepping into a time capsule. Everything was legit the exact same as it was when we graduated which was bizarre and cute and so many feelings at once.image2 (1)image1 (5)image3

Shoutout to Caroline for taking pics of Christina and I all over campus and basically being our paparazzi for the afternoon. πŸ™‚ Thanks lover! After our trip down memory lane we headed over to Cellar Bistro which is one of our fave restaurants in Wheaton for wine and sangria and cheese and way too much food. It was so great and it was a beautiful night to sit outside and sip our drinks long after the sun went down. While I often have frustrations regarding my years spent at Wheaton, I am SO thankful for the wonderful people I met and continue to call besties and hubby. That part was worth it for sure! πŸ™‚ Love all you crazy Wheaties of mine!

On Sunday I headed downtown to spend the day with my besties from high school over brunch and booze. The weather was perfect so we sat outside all morning and afternoon and just enjoyed some quality time together. The older we get the harder it is to get everyone together (we missed you Meg) but it’s always so much fun when we do. Everyone brought a little something to share and we talked and laughed and we caught up on life, it was wonderful; even though we never made it to picking out pumpkins, ha! πŸ™‚IMG_4032So proud of the women this group has grown into and can’t believe were in the double-digit years of friendship! I know we will be friends for life and I love you all! It makes my heart so happy to see you all so happy/successful/loved/healthy/etc. #sappy #meanit Thanks toΒ the ladies of Wilton street for hosting all of us! πŸ™‚ Can’t wait for some more of our Fall traditions like Friends-giving, a chili day and of course Halloween and a bestie birthday! #wheatononwiltonimage4I told you I would be living in this dress! I found a couple similar ones here and here that you neeed in your life, for reals. So fab. It’s like a comfy nightgown you can wear out. #thebest

After I got home from our girl’s day it was all about getting stuff done and ready for a new week. Boo. Laundry/new sheets/make dinner/organize the blog for the week/edit photos/get to bed on a reasonable time. Phew. I’m tired just thinking about my day yesterday, ha! But all in all such a fab weekend with so many of my favorite people in the world and I am so blessed! Looking forward to a fab week ahead anddd so excited to celebrate one year of blogging on Friday! AH! Where did the last year go?! Crazytown! Are you ready to celebrate with me? πŸ˜‰

Thanks for stopping by! Its wine and Dancing With the Stars time for this girl! πŸ™‚
