A Late Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday lovers!

If you follow me on Instagram you know that we had a family funeral yesterday so I decided to save my weekend recap for today instead. I really wanted to soak in and meditate on the life lessons I took away from the celebration we had for my Great Uncle’s life yesterday and just press pause a little bit. πŸ™‚ I have to say it was such a beautiful service and really inspired me to live a life worth remembering. I have no idea the ways in which God will use me throughout my life but I know a few things for sure; we need to tell the people who are leaving impressions on us how much they mean to us now and not wait, that life is meant to be lived joyfully and that the best marriages work when neither partner can be found speaking negatively about the other. So many truths and good take aways.

I also want to mention that I am SO enjoying reading all your responses to my blog survey! Thank you SO much for taking the time to give me a little feedback, even if it was solely to win the prize πŸ˜‰ I so appreciate it! I am feeling so inspired and excited for some fun things to come thanks to you all! If you haven’t had the chance to enter to win you can find my survey,Β here. I will be accepting entries until Friday! You know you want to win all this!unnamedSo on to the weekend recap. On Friday night the hubs and I went to watch one of our sweet friends dance her heart out in Oklahoma which was super fun (minus a slight ding-dong moment on my part). I had seen Courtney in her previous musical at Drury Lane in Oakbrook and didn’t even check the e-mail to see where this play was, just assumed her new contract was with the same theater. Read bad idea/don’t assume things/always double-check/duh. Yup you guessed it, we were running late and hauled ass to Oakbrook only to find out there were no tickets waiting for us because the 8pm showing was Peter Pan not Oklahoma, ha. We were standing there like whattttttt how did this happen/what happened/where is Oklahome playing at?! So I pulled up the e-mail and saw it was at The Paramount Theater in Aurora which is a half an hour away if you book it. Which is exactly what we did. We ran back to the parking garage and sped all the way there. The hubs was like I’m not mad nowΒ but I will be if you get a speeding ticket, haha valid. I literally could not stop laughing at the fact that we drove to the wrong theater and the hubs gave the will call lady at least 4 different name combos trying to pick up our tickets that weren’t even there hahah I’m laughing just thinking about it now. The lady thought we were big idiots. Oops! We got to the right theater right when Courtney went on stage and got to see all of her scenes so it ended up working out fine! πŸ™‚

Saturday: I actually wasn’t feeling super great and was supposed to wake up and head downtown to get ready with some of my girlfriends for our last wedding of the season but couldn’t really get out of bed and just needed to lay low until we needed to get ready. I ended up getting some stuff done around the condo, drank lots of coffee and just relaxed. I don’t know about you ladies but my period literally knocks me out every month. Yes I can talk about my period on my own blog, don’t you think? πŸ˜‰ Like I have to cancel plans/push past suicidal thoughts/eat all the chocolate/make myself move around despite my ENTIRE body fighting against me. It’s the worst. I actually don’t know anyone whose periods are as bad as mine and I am jealousssssss of all of you that have a mostly normal time every month. Meanwhile I’m over here all like a bloated/starving to nausea/emotional/exhausted/knife cramping/back-breaking/insomniac/anxious nut case. EVERY. MONTH. Bet you didn’t think you were gonna get a detailed description of my time of the month today did you? HA! Sometimes I’m a rambler what can I say?! πŸ™‚ But I just wanted to explain why I literally couldn’t get myself downtown during the day. GAH. Which all led to us running late to the wedding, getting stuck in traffic, me being starving and eating an apple on the way then wanting to barf and stopping for more tampons and missing Caroline walk down the aisle. ::tear:: But we made it and it was a beautiful, fairy tale of a wedding.IMG_8764You can find all my outfit deats, here, where I repurposed an old bridesmaid dress. How handsome does the hubs look? Ow ow! I always make sure our outfits coordinate because hello photo ops. πŸ˜‰ He loves me for my crazy, don’t worry! We partied late into the night and then headed home for lots of snuggles with our fur baby who made us promise her a long walk on Sunday after being gone so long, done and done. πŸ™‚

Sunday: I managed to get a decent night sleep and then got up and got ready to go learn all about our POOL at our new house. Yes you read right, we have a pool at our new house and we are SO excited! Since we’ve never had one before the current home owners offered to teach us how to close it for the Winter and how to use all the accessories that go with it. It was so sweet of them to volunteer their time AND they’re leaving us everything to go with it which is amazing! After house hunting for 3 years it feels so surreal to think we get the keys in a couple of weeks and will move in at the end of November! We CAN NOT WAIT to entertain! And I can’t wait to decorate and post some fun decor things! I’ve got a few projects in the works already that are gonna be so great! πŸ™‚ Stay tuned for that! We then headed out for a late brunch and watched the bears game before enjoying the gorgeous weather with Roo!Β IMG_8773IMG_8811IMG_8810

If you’ve ever wondered why we named her Roo please see the above photo. Baby girl has mad hops and has been able to jump so high since we got her at 8 weeks old. She is a maniac. I asked her if she would sit for a photo and she tried to jump into my arms instead haha. What a nut. πŸ˜‰ But we love her and honestly don’t know what we would do without her. She’s the best part about coming home at the end of the day, besides the hubs of course. It’s her 2nd birthday next week and I am on the hunt for a cozy and cute snuggle blanket for her. She looooves to be cozy and I know she would love a blanket that’s her own at night instead of always stealing mine. Or maybe I would just really like that. It’s a gift for both of us I guess! The weather was so great on Sunday and it looks like it will be most of this week too which is so great! The longer it sticks around the better in my opinion! You know my stance on the cold. After the park I did my grocery run for the week, made some comfort food and just relaxed with the hubs and Roo. It was a great end to the weekend!

Sorry this ended up being a novel of a post, props to you if you read the entire thing haha. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that your week is off to a great start! Thanks for stopping by!

Haha I’m sorry but your cracking me up girl. It sucks being a women!!!! Men have no idea what we have to put up with. Are bodies, hormones, minds just go absolutely NUTS every month. Then after we have kids POSTPARTUM. It’s a good thing you have a good man. I had a horrible husband but the best father for my kids.
There is nothing like having a pool at your house. It’s a piece of heaven at home. Is it fenced in? Does your sweet baby dog know how to swim? That’s my only fear with pools. We had one. It was fenced and we were there thank goodness. Our son fell in when he was about 3. Scared me to death. Only took us 1 second to grab him but I was never off guard after that.
Love your daily stories πŸ™‚ Give sweet baby pup a hug. Hope you feel better

      Hey girl!
Haha yeah it’s rough being a girl sometimes but lets be real it still beats being a guy, am I right?! πŸ˜‰ Yes our yard is fenced which is nice and Roo knows how to swim though she isn’t a huge fan yet haha. I can’t wait to move in! Thanks for stopping by for your sweet words!
