When Life Hands You Lymes

Hey Dolls!

I am so excited to share the project I have been working on the last couple weeks with you! When I found out that one of my best friends, college roommates and bridesmaids was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease after a two year struggle with her health, I was devastated. I knew this diagnosis would affect the rest of her life and that I wanted to help her, I just didn’t know how. The more I have found out about her treatment and the impact on her life I knew that besides support and prayer, she needed financial help. Because the government doesn’t recognize her illness as a legitimate disease, insurance doesn’t cover ANY of her treatment. Un-be-liev-able. So that means the 25 pills that she has to take everyday, she pays for out of pocket and her necessary weekly IV treatments aren’t covered either. The medical bills from the 26 doctors it took before someone could finally figure out what was wrong, is staggering. So unfair right?? So, how am I going to help her you ask!?

Let me introduced you to my new little project, Glitter Gives Back.

Bracelets: Glitter Gives Back

I decided to combine my passion for jewelry with my love for the people in my life and create an Etsy shop full of handmade beaded bracelets. After the cost of the materials, 100% of the proceeds will being going towards Christina’s ongoing treatment. You can read more about her story, the road to diagnosis and life since November when her blog goes live later this month. But until then let me tell you something else, you won’t find someone stronger or more inspiring dealing with an exhausting/frustrating/painful/unsupported illness, then Christina. I know her story will inspire you to keep on keeping on even when you feel like there’s no way out and remind you that at the end of the day your faith is the one thing you can ALWAYS rely on. Christina, thank you for being willing to share your story to inspire others and bring awareness to such a widely undiagnosed illness. We all need to be educated and so does the medical field. God is using your struggles for the better good and we CAN and WILL all be #LYMESTRONG for you! Please take a moment, visit my shop and help me support this amazing girl! The photos above are just a few of the styles available and a more uni-sex rubber style ‘LYMESTRONG’ bracelet will be added next week in men/women/youth sizing, so there’s something for everyone! Illness doesn’t discriminate and sometimes life isn’t fair but you CAN make a difference. You CAN bring awareness. You CAN change the world. It only takes ONE.

“When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this: You haven’t.”

Thanks for stopping by. Thanks for your support. Thanks for helping me give back.

Love you, CICI!!! This is all for you!

PS-Just a quick shout out to the hubs for encouraging me to trust that little voice that told me this was possible and was a good idea. Thanks for encouraging me even though I’m not a jewelry designer that someone else out there will think these are cute. Thanks for loving me and loving my friends so well. Love you to the moon and back! 🙂
