Happy Monday lovers!
Lots of recapping going on today! What a whirlwind of a week last week and weekend! I actually had to take a power nap on Friday evening because I was so worn out, which never happens but felt so good to recharge and get stuff done. Like I mentioned in my last post I was going to Go Blog Social on Saturday so I needed to get stuff done before that AND get a good night sleep so I could be ready to be a sponge at the conference. Of course I was too hyped up to get a good night’s sleep so I slept through my alarm and was running around like a maniac getting ready to leave Saturday morning, ha. I still managed to have time to stop at Starbucks on the way so I consider that a victory for sure. 😉
It was so great to learn from all the fabulous speakers at the conference! I realized going back through my camera that I didn’t take that many photos so these few will have to do. 🙂 Our day was packed full with inspiring ladies and a little time to mingle so I took full advantage of the time I had and was totally in the zone. From a pop-up shop from Woodbury Lane where we could do a little shopping to all the Vita Coco Lattes we could drink it was an awesome day. Because at a blog conference of course you need shopping and coffee re-dally available, am I right??I loved the laid back feel of this conference. The small table set up made it more intimate and allowed for some small group conversation as opposed to aisles of seats which makes it a little hard to get to know more than just the person next to you. Having everything in the same room was super convenient too. It also is so helpful for taking notes to be seated at a table vs. using your lap! If you’re a creative/small business owner/entrepreneur/girl boss and you’ve never been to some kind of conference I highly recommend it. Even if you have I always leave so encouraged and motivated and energized. We can do so much when we hustle and put our mind to it. Here’s a few of my favorite quotes from the day.
- “You can do literally anything in your life even if the odds aren’t in your favor.” -Hallie Wilson of Corals and Cognacs who was one of my favorite ladies of the day! So inspiring and I CAN NOT wait to take one of her Soul Cycle classes! AH!
- “Passion is free, hustle is sold separately.” This might by my new motto, thanks Hallie! xo
- “When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you’ll be successful.”-Eric Thomas via Hillary of A Drink With who I’m lucky enough to have gotten to listen to twice!
It’s so crazy awesome to get to learn from ladies that you’ve followed from behind your computer/phone for a while. I hope you take advantage of the opportunities that come your way and don’t let them pass you by! You never know who you might meet that could help you or vice versa. We all need each other and I so believe in collaboration over competition. Don’t let some else’s success bring you down or discourage you from your own dreams. Let it motivate you and spur you forward. You can do it!
Even though it was Halloween on Saturday we decided to stay in and relax after I was gone all day and the hubs did some honey-dos around the condo. We watched The Best of Me, have you seen it yet? Prepare yourself for waterworks, it’s so sweet. I had giant tears streaming down my face multiple times. I’m totally a sucker for romantic movies and Nicholas Sparks anything so I was a goner. HA! You can watch the trailer here, it’s on Netflix already so check it out!
On Sunday I made us brunch and then we got to work on a couple little things before I had ‘Mimosas and the Message’ aka Bible study. 🙂 I am so thankful for this group of girls and the time we spend together. I told my friend Linds who organized it that she makes me feel like I won the best friend jackpot. She is seriously the best. She made us mimosas and pumpkin chili yesterday which was so delish. Sidenote: how awesome is she to make veggie chili for everyone so that I could eat it too? That is friendship people. 😉 I am so lucky! I mentioned before that we are reading The Furious Longing of God and Praying God’s Word and you guysss I highly recommend them both! No matter where you are in your faith there are so many beautiful take-aways. It’s so challenging and convicting to go through books like these in a group and I don’t take it for granted. If you get them please share your thoughts with me! I LOVE hearing what other people get out of books because different things stand out to all of us. Or if you have any good book recommendations comment below, I’m always looking for more to add to my list! 🙂
After bible study I came home and made one of the delicious Modern Table Meals that we got from the blog conference. You guys it’s so good! Everything you need is in the bag from the “noodles” to the spices to the sauce and you just need olive oil and any fresh produce you might want to toss with it when it’s done. I added diced tomato to the Mediterranean blend and it was great! I had the leftovers for lunch today. Yum. It’s so great to find easy gluten-free meals that you can keep in the pantry and grab when you need a meal fast. And it’s hubby approved which is a plus! 🙂 I can’t wait to try the other kinds that I snagged on Saturday! I’ll keep you posted of course! Loving all the goodies that we got to go home with! Shout out to all our fabulous sponsors! I can’t wait to frame this adorable print in my house (that we close on tomorrow, ah!) and you can find some other adorable prints like this one, here. I also can’t wait to head downtown and create a new piece of Kendra Scott jewelry with some of the other ladies from the conference. I love the Kendra Scott color bar and am so pumped to add another piece to my (growing) collection, hehe. If you follow me on Instagram I shared this photo earlier and you can find more of the details when you sign up for liketoknow.it! 🙂
Sorry for the novel of a post but you know I love me a good recap and I love keeping you all up to date on what’s going on in my life. So hopefully you all enjoyed it and had a fabulous weekend as well! You can shop my conference outfit details below! Thanks for stopping by!
