Happy Monday, lovers!
I’m starting a weekly weekend recap for the blog on Mondays since I try to be off my computer on the weekend and get other stuff done. Sound fun and exciting? I hope so cause it’s happening, ha! 🙂
Friday night I had a bachelorette party with some of my favorite ladies which was a total blast! We did a mixology class which I highly recommend for showers/bach parties/anniversaries/date night in/ladies night/housewarmings 😉 you name it! Lisa from Femme Du Coupe created 3 fabulous cocktails for the night that we got to sample, learn how to make and then make ourselves! Something you probably don’t know about me is I’m a cocktail queen. I don’t drink beer ever, 1. because I think it tastes nasty and 2. it’s normally not gluten-free anyways. Don’t get me wrong I love a great glass of wine and that’s normally what I drink at home but when I’m out I am all about cocktails so it was so great to learn some new cocktail recipes that are easy and affordable to make at home. Think the Rachel Ray of cocktails, quick/easy/minimal ingredients but no sacrifice in taste! If you’re in the Chicago land area I you HAVE to schedule them for an event, you and your guests will have a wonderful night! 🙂 Plus they bring EVERYTHING you need which makes hosting that much easier! All you need is a group of your fave people, some delicious food, a spot to have a party and you’re all set! The bride to be said it was the perfect ladies night in and I totally agree! 🙂 This is my fave recipe from the night, you have to try it!
The Last Hurrah:
- 1 part watermelon water
- 1 part lemon juice
- 3 raspberries
- 2 parts tequila
You’ll be seeing the dress I’m wearing on the blog next week, it’s one of my absolute faves and a must have in your wardrobe! Stay tuned!
Saturday was my ONLY free Saturday off the month so I had to get A LOT done around the condo before we head to Texas on Thursday for a few days plus put the finishing touches on a fun blog-iversary post I have coming up the beginning of October and then squeeze in a relaxing wine tasting date night with the hubs.We turned the earnest money in for our (if everything goes according to plan) new house so we went out to celebrate being (almost) homeowners. Read ——>spending freeze. #worthit We have been house hunting for over 2.5 years and I’ll be sharing more on that journey once we have the keys and I can say the hunt is officially over! SO excited! If you live in the burbs we recommend joining Lynfred Winery’s wine club. We’ve been members of the white wine club for over a year and we love it! Members get discounts on tastings and wine and store merchandise so it’s def worth it. Plus there’s a club for everyone so you really can’t go wrong! You can even have your wine shipped if you don’t have to have to go get it, but we like any excuse for a little vino trip, ya feel me? 😉 They have an apple wine right now that is legit to. die. for! It tastes like Fall in a glass, soooo yummy! I wanted like 1o bottles but remember that spending freeze I just mentioned? Yeah, no 10 bottles for me, womp. I told the hubs we should request only apple wine as housewarming gifts, joking…… but I won’t turn it down, obvi. Get more deats on Lynfred Winery, here.On Sunday we had our usual brunch at home and then got some more things done before heading out for the wedding of a couple of our friends. Let me tell you something, it is the BEST when two of your friends get married! AH! Best. Group. Of. Guests. Ever! It was like a college reunion; we cried and danced and toasted the newlyweds all night long! Alsoo they had a grilled cheese station sooo they win. 😉 Future brides this was a crowd pleaser for sure! We had such a fun night and it seriously is the sweetest sharing in someone’s love story! I alwayssss cry at weddings and the older I get the more meaningful they are to me. What a gift to find someone to share your days with! I don’t take it for granted, that’s for sure. 🙂
Side note, how cute does the hubs look? Am I right?! Chicago land ladies you HAVE to take your man to Suit Supply in Chicago! It’s a boutique shopping experience complete with booze, I meannnn you can’t go wrong! We had an awesome time earlier in the Summer and would recommend it again and again. There are a wide range of prices and styles and custom suiting as well! 🙂 Check it out!
This weekend was so full and so fun! It was prettyyyy rough waking up this morning but I smiled all the way to work thinking about our epic dance party last night, ha! But for reals. So great! I can’t wait for one of my best friends wedding’s in Austin this weekend and for another college reunion/dance party awesomeness! The hubs and I will be driving from Dallas to Austin on Thursday and need some fun places to stop on the way so let us know! We looove roadtrips and want to try some new places! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend as well! Thanks for stopping by!
