Confession: For those of you that know me well you know that I am a planning, organizing, list-making maniac and that not having a plan gives me total anxiety. I seriously can’t deal with it and because of this I feel like I am spending way too much of my time planning for ‘someday.’ I really want to be more organized, present and available, TODAY, yet all my planning for the future is getting in the way. You know what I mean, ‘someday I’ll go to the gym/loose the weight/try this recipe/make this craft/take Riley here/stop hitting snooze/ etc. and then more time goes by and your someday list continues to grow but you’re not living the life you’ve been planning for.
I don’t know who originally said this quote but it has become like my mantra for 2015, “there are 7 days in the week and someday isn’t one of them.” Why do we save things for special occasions or for a rainy day when we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow? Why are we wasting our ‘todays’ striving for ‘somedays?’ I don’t want to look back on my life and wish I would have done more or spent my time better. I want to make the most out of every minute that I get because I KNOW life is precious. I want to make more memories now and not hope they come later.
That’s one of the many reasons I made my ‘101 things in 1001 days’ list, because I want to live more intentionally and celebrate all my ‘todays!’ I want to plan just enough to be organized but not over plan to the point that I am saving the best stuff for later instead of making the moments I have now the best. Won’t you join me? Don’t wish away today hoping for a better tomorrow! Get off the couch and make it happen!
Pop the champagne.
Take the vacation.
Stay up all night.
Hit the gym.
Tell someone you love them.
Try something new.
Here’s looking at you, 2015! I’ve got some big plans for you but know you’ve got even more then I imagined in store for me. 🙂 Love these custom books? Design your own from May Designs, they have everything you need to be just as organized as you want!
Thanks for stopping by!
I hope this is our best year yet!
PS– One way I’ve chosen to free up more of the clutter in my life is to unsubscribe from all the millions of e-mails the clutter my inbox everyday. I can shop and read articles on my own time without constant reminders about it. So that got marked off my 101 list the other day and it felt so great to de-clutter! I also designed the polka dot address book above to organize all of the addresses I have floating since our wedding and am so glad I did! Some things are just better handwritten and not a PDF file or a section of your phone, am I right? I promised I would blog as I check things off my list so enjoy! xo
