Happy Friday loves!
For this week’s faves I wanted to share one of my favorite places to go in the burbs during the Fall and that is Kuiper’s Family Farm! If you’re from Illinois I’m sure you’ve heard of it! It’s one of the best places to go to get pumpkins and pick apples and munch on donuts and let your kiddos get their crazies out! Riley and I went on the most perfect Fall day a couple weeks ago and had such a blast! It’s so fun to be able to do things during the week when school’s in session because most places you go won’t be too crowded and you can take your time and enjoy yourselves. I will say we were pretty sad to get allll the way there and find out you can only pick apples on the weekends but never fear there was still plenty of fun to be had. Prepare yourself for lots of adorable Riley pics, sorry not sorry. We stuffed our faces with apple donuts. Fed all the animals (goats/pigs/a llama/sheep) which was fun for both of us being animal lovers. I seriously want goats and pigs someday. Like how awesome would it be to have a rescue farm and save a bunch of animals?! Ah! Maybe one day! 😉 They also have a giant slide, a blob to bounce on, a corn maze, a hay bail playground and so much more! It is on the pricier side in my opinion, $10 to get in and play for each of us plus anything you buy to eat or decorate. It’s also $10 each to pick apples plus the price of the apples, yikes. So prepare yourself for an expensive but awesome day! Things you need to bring with you; water, a camera, layers in case you get hot with all the walking/running around you will do and $$$. Oh and an appetite for donuts and cider of course! I recommend parking on the apple side and getting treats and picking apples first and then driving across the street to do all the fun stuff on the pumpkin patch side. Riley and I were totally worn out and had a blast.
What are your favorite things to do in the Fall? We made a big Fall fun list and have slowly been checking things off.Today we carved a pumpkin and made salt and pepper pumpkin seeds which were delicious! We are so much more intentional about making fun memories when we make a fun list at the beginning of each season. Our Summer fun list was super fun and we managed to check everything off despite not having the best weather. Fall has been a little more challenging with all of Riley’s activities but we’re making progress! Next on the list, caramel apples! Yum! 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m off to pack my bag for the conference tomorrow and finalize my outfit before heading to bed early to make sure I’m rested for lots of learning/networking/socializing fun! Look for a recap on the blog on Monday but you can catch all the deats ahead of time on Instagram (madelyn.weaver) and Snapchat (mrsmadelynw). Have a wonderful weekend!
