Woohoo we’re half way through the week! High five! I’m ready for the weekend already and I’m sure you will all agree!
So I was trying to think of what I wanted to blog about today and all I could focus on was what I knew I was going to write as my thankful part and decided I would only do that today because why not make being thankful the best and only part?! Agreed?! Indulge me.
30 Days of Thanks: Day 12
Today I am so so thankful for my friends new and old. I was mailing a package at the post office today and it just hit me in the face like, OMG I am so thankful for my friends. I mean it. You know the kind of friends I’m talking about. The ones that distance and time doesn’t affect. The ones who have shared all the big and little moments in each other’s lives with. The ones who make you want to be better people because you can’t possibly deserve to have them in your life. The ones you can’t wait to see whether it’s been a day/week/month/year since you last saw each other. You know, the BEST kind of friends. Not to mention that ones who haven’t been around that long but the minute you met you knew you would be friends for life. The soulmate kinds. #priceless #blessed #bestiesfortheresties!
They say if your friendship last longer then 7 years, you’ll will be friends for life and I totally believe it. Sidenote: I don’t know who “they” is but I know I heard this somewhere so I am just going to go with it. I am so lucky to have the people in my life that have been friends well over 7 years and am thankful they will continue to be the ones in my life for the long hull. I love that both my college group of friends and my high school group of friends have daily group texts and long e-mail chains. It feels like we never stop talking and it is sometimes the funniest parts of my day. It is also SUCH a comfort to know that a prayer is a type away. When you feel like your day can’t get any worse or you just need a little extra strength or patience, it is amazing to know that your friends will send up a quick prayer at a moments notice and that you would do the same. We are constantly sharing prayer requests, fashion tips, hilarious stories from “last night,” triumphs, sorrows, kids pictures/videos etc. We might not have time for the hour long phone convos like we did in school, but we’re connected and we’re there and it’s the best. I am proud of the women that we have grown into and how far we have come since we were teenagers. I am proud of the women that stood beside me when I married my male bestie. And I am proud of the women we have been when we went through graduations, deaths, parental separation, eating disorders, breakups, makeups, cheating boyfriends, new jobs, babies, weddings, sickness, distance, promotions, job loss and so much more. I am so thankful to have such a fabulous support system and I know I don’t say thank you enough. So thank you to all my besties for all the big and little things you do and for who you are. You. Are. Amazing. And I mean it when I say we will be friends forever.
And to all the friends who maybe haven’t been in my life for as long. You rock just as hard. Thank you for being a part of my life so far and I look forward to years to come with you as well! Whether we met from work or mutual friends or family members I am so thankful for you. Thank you for supporting me and teaching me and loving me. They say in new seasons of your life you find new besties to add (I rephrased this “quote”) and I totally agree with that too! It’s such a gift that God continues to bring new amaze-ball people into my life! I can’t forget the besties that I inherited from dating/marrying the hubs and the ones that have married into Josh’s group as well! My cup runneth over with amazing people that I think I might burst! wowza! So thankful!!!
So I hope from my thankful rant you find yourself thankful for all these kinda people in your life and that you take a minute to tell them. It’s important and it matters and you aren’t too busy for it. Promise.
Have a wonderful night and as always, thanks for stopping by!
