I don’t know about you but this weekend totally flew by! Ah! I sat down at one point last night and could not believe it was Sunday and not Saturday. We got a lot done but still I feel like we have so much to do before we move in and it’s just a tadddd stressful. I think picking things out to furnish the house is more stressful than the moving part. I’ve been waiting to decorate a house forever and now that it’s here I want it to be perfect! I know that’s not reasonable but what can I say, I’m a perfectionist. I’ll be posting some of my inspiration boards this week so you all can help me make up my mind! 🙂
On Friday night after work we had some dinner and then got right to work making and packing boxes and taking car loads over to the house. We are planning to list our condo either this week or next and want to get it ready to take pics and sell asap. It was so fun to let Roo run around her new backyard for the first time! She loooves being outside so I know she is going to be so happy getting to go out whenever she wants once we move. 🙂 She was so cute running back and forth and all over the yard. I tried to get a video but it was so dark so hopefully I can get one this week to show you all what a crazy lady she is! 🙂
On Saturday I got up and made us coffee and breakfast and then we got to work getting another load ready and touching up some paint around the condo. I told the hubs I was impressed with how much we’ve gotten done in a short amount of time but also it looks like we haven’t packed a thing yet which is annoying since I think I did 16 boxes this weekend, ha. The hubs was making fun of me for how many boxes I got for us to move and we only have a couple left so we will def needs lottsss more! Ha! Take that! 😉 After I took a load of stuff over to put in the garage I went furniture shopping with a girlfriend while the hubs finished up some stuff at the condo. Lots of options really stresses me out and even after I found the dining room table that I thought was the one I still went through my pins on Pinterest to make sure it fit in with the aesthetic I’m going for that space. I have to do one room at a time or I get super overwhelmed with options. So after a couple of hours of shopping I got our table which I consider a huge success because I’ve been looking at dining tables for years and the options are endless. I’ll share my design ideas later and also the table we ended up with once it get’s delivered later this week! Yay!
Saturday night the hubs and I went downtown to a housewarming party for 4 of my high school girlfriends who all rent a house together. It was so fun to have some time to unwind and relax with some of my besties after working so much the last few days.
Did I mention it was “hoedown” themed? HA! So of course we had to wear some plaid for the occasion! 🙂 How cute does the hubs look? It also made me so excited to have our own housewarming sometime this Winter! Depending on how long it takes me to get the house together it might be ugly Christmas sweater themed or white themed for Winter. We will see! 🙂 Hopefully it doesn’t take me so long that it ends up being Valentine’s Day themed! Ah! But how cute would a pink and red and glittery party be?! Hmm! 😉
On Sunday I was up and at it early because I was walking in a fashion show for M&Em’s boutique. I used to work there when I was in high school and college so I love representing it whenever I get the chance! I’ll actually be styling and hanging out there during Ladies Night Out on November 17th from 5-9 so come stop by if you’re in the area! I’ll help you style pieces you like and pick out some gifts for your loved ones for the holidays and just have some a fun girly time! Shout-out to my amazing sister-in-law for making this flier for me! I would be lost without all the creative people in my life and am so thankful for them! 🙂
I loved the outfit I styled for the fashion show yesterday and can’t wait to re-wear this dress ASAP! It’s so cozy and comfy! Plus since it’s a little more over sized it’s easy to add layers underneath for Winter warmth. Also you all NEED a pair of fleece lined leggings, they are seriously the best! I was so warm all day and know they will be perfect for all the photo shoots I do outside from now until April! BRR!! I should probably get some for Brooke and Lauren too, ha! But for reals I know they get cold taking all my pics too. 🙂 After I got home from the show the hubs and I packed a little more, grabbed Chipotle, relaxed and looked at like 500 decor accessory options. HA! Lucky for me the hubs wants the house to be the way I want it so as long as it’s not over the budget. I still like to show him my ideas since he will be looking at the stuff everyday too and I don’t want it to be toooo girly. 😉 I try not to add much pink in things but there will be metallic everywhere, duh. And maybeee a little blush here and there but nothing over the top. I also can’t decide if I want to incorporate navy into the dining room or not. So many ideas in my head!
In other news we’re almost done watching Parenthood and will be needing some suggestions on which show to watch together next! I don’t want Parenthood to end! 🙁 We like funny/happy/dramatic shows so no crazy suggestions please! Sorry this post is all over the place kinda like my brain right now so if you made it to the end hooray! 🙂 We have a busy month ahead of us and I can’t wait to share our home journey with you all and the before pics of the house! Yay!
November 7: I am so so thankful that God protected us from major water damage in our house! I wasn’t planning on going inside but a couple of friends wanted to see it so I walked them through and we discovered that the upstairs toilet was running and leaking and the stream was heading to the hallway! AH! If we hadn’t gone inside who knows how much water would be all over the upstairs and maybe even downstairs! We have hard wood floors throughout the house so it would have been a disaster!
November 8: I am so thankful for Roo and how much she loves us. It is the best thing in the world coming home and seeing how excited she is to see us. Our lives are so much better with her in it!
November 9: I am so thankful for the amount of sunshine we have had the last few weeks! Even though it’s chilly and I need the heat on the sun makes it so much better!
Have you been counting your blessings so far this month? I sure hope so! Thanks for stopping by and for reading this novel of a recap! 🙂
